Mohican Homelands Education Initiative Presents: Stockbridge-Munsee Community: Past, Present, Future

BeECO hosted an all-ages educational event featuring the Mohican Homelands Education Initiative, which is a Tribal–College partnership between Williams College and the Stockbridge-Munsee Community.

The interactive presentation explored the Mohican people’s history, enduring cultural traditions, and ongoing connection to both their ancestral homelands and present-day community in Wisconsin.

Participants engaged in hands-on experiences, including viewing artifacts and sampling traditional chicory tea. The event concluded with a visit to the Native Plant Garden outside Town Hall, where attendees learned about the ceremonial offering of tobacco as an expression of gratitude.
