Local Scout Receives Grant to Support Pollinators and Bats
A group gathered at the farm to recognize a project designed for real impact. Georgia DiRamio, a scout and student at Bethlehem Central High School, received a grant from the Bethlehem Garden Club to install a bat house and establish a pollinator garden on the property as her Eagle Scout project.
The award was presented to Georgia by Kathy Raffe and Linda Meany of the Bethlehem Garden Club. They were joined by Town of Bethlehem and BeEco representatives and Georgia’s parents to offer congratulations. The grant reflects the Garden Club’s ongoing support for practical, community-based projects that enhance local green spaces. The club’s efforts can be seen around town in public gardens, plantings, and community initiatives designed to bring nature closer to residents.
Georgia’s project will support native pollinators and provide bats with a safe place to roost, strengthening the local ecosystem in a practical way. She will be on site soon to begin implementing the project, creating an accessible space where residents can see firsthand how small-scale habitat efforts contribute to a healthier environment.
At Be Eco, we know that one idea, supported by a committed community, can spark real change. This project is more than a pollinator garden or a bat house. It is part of a larger experiment on the future of agriculture and sustainability at our town owned farm. It challenges us to ask what we are willing to do. Together we can care for this land and shape the town’s natural spaces for generations to come.
Georgia is helping us get the growing season started and we welcome the positive energy!
All it takes is an idea and people willing to make a difference.
